BIOGRAPHY – Sebastian Domingo

BIO AND REPERTOIRE

Sebastian Domingo began his flute studies with M.Sabrina Consoli at the “A. Scontrino” Conservatorio in Trapani. He specialized with important Masters such as Flavio Alziati, Michele Marasco, Bruno Grossi, Juliette Hurel, Marco Zoni, Paolo Taballione, Elena Cornacchia, Gianni Biocotino. He continued his studies with Francesco Loi at the Carlo Felice Opera House in Genoa, Chiara Tonelli, Silvia Careddu, Claudia Bucchini at the Fiesole Music School. In 2022 he was attending at the Master in Music Performance and orchestral studies at MARTHA – Music ART House Academy in Palermo with Silvia Careddu and Riccardo Ghiani. He participated in several national and international competitions: in 2011 and 2012 he won the 1st prize at the National Music Competition for young musicians “Benedetto Albanese”, in 2020 he was awarded with the “Mension” at the International French Flute Festival Online and he also pursued the third position at the Florence International Competition “Premio Crescendo “. He obtained the suitableness in the Prenestina orchestras of Rome, Bazzini Consort of Brescia and Teatro Comunale of Como. He deepened his studies of the piccolo and its repertoire with Maestro Fiorella Andriani at the Atelier Cristiani in Turin, in particular the repertoire of Vivaldi and Liebermann. In Brescia he is currently one of the most favorite students of Maestro Julien Beaudiment, with whom he is specializing in the “French” flute method, of which Beaudiment is one of the greatest contemporary exponents. Today he fully dedicates himself to the flute and chamber repertoire, by ranging from the Baroque period to early twentieth century. He played and collaborated with the pianist Leonardo Rizzo and with the guitarists Gabriele Balzerano and Edoardo Pieri. He more recently collaborated with the guitarist Edoardo Pieri for the publication of the transcriptions for flute and guitar of Jesus Guridi’s “basque songs”, played for the absolute first time on 23 July 2021 in Ortigia at the Guitar Summer Festival.
